One unit, one hold.

Every vehicle is a record with a VIN, an owner and a state. Two customers cannot hold the same one.

The database enforces the hold, not the screen.

A hold is a short, exclusive lock taken before checkout. A reservation follows a verified deposit and accepted terms. If a payment arrives after a hold has expired, it goes to review and never takes another customer's unit.

A quote is not stock.

A quotation for a vehicle you do not have creates no stock and promises no availability. Repricing needs approval and cannot overwrite a price the customer has accepted.

The register.

Stock by VIN
Owned, consignment, demonstrator and customer vehicles are kept apart. A customer's service vehicle cannot appear as sale stock without an acquisition record.
Cost you can trust
Unit cost is built from purchase, freight, duties and preparation, in the original currency with the conversion rate kept.
A showroom that stays honest
Published units carry approved photographs and specifications. Sold and withdrawn units drop out of results, and private acquisition costs never reach the public API.
Handover with conditions
A fully paid vehicle with incomplete mandatory pre-delivery checks stays ineligible for delivery.
Ageing that asks a question
Days held, cost and margin are visible, and ageing creates one review task per unit. It never changes a public price by itself.

Leads and test drives.

Every lead has an owner
A lead always has an owner or a queue and a next-action date, and its source survives conversion.
Follow-up that stops
Automated follow-up stops after a reply, a sale, a complaint or an opt-out, and is checked again at the moment it would send.
Test drives that do not collide
Overlapping bookings for a demonstrator are rejected. An overdue test drive creates a task for the person responsible.

Coming in later releases

Incoming shipments and clearing milestones, trade-ins and consignment, registration documents, and finance and insurance referrals. A registration milestone entered by staff is labelled staff-confirmed and never shown as a live DVLA response.
